Single tooth implants

The single-tooth implant solution is usually the best and most conservative long-term option to restore a missing or failing single tooth. This dental treatment is considered a permanent solution to a missing tooth and is the most natural looking result.

A bridge vs single tooth implant

A bridge supported by the adjacent teeth may also be an option, but frequently means preparing or drilling the adjacent teeth, something we are keen to avoid, particularly if the teeth are sound and healthy. A fixed bridge may be a good option when those teeth need restoration, i.e. if they are already heavily filled, restored or crowned, otherwise the single tooth implant restoration is generally the best choice, particularly for sound, healthy teeth.

What is a single-tooth implant?

A single-tooth implant is a procedure that involves placing a titanium screw into the bone of your upper or lower jaw, in a way that complements the natural structure of your smile.

Forming a strong secure bond once the bone has healed around the screw, a bespoke crown is then attached to the titanium screw.  Designed and sculptured to last between 10 to 15 years, providing you brush and floss on a regular basis, this treatment is ideal for those looking for a solution that has the potential to last a lifetime.

Benefits of this treatment

Single tooth implants offer a number of benefits including:

  • Long-lasting results.
  • Comfortable. This treatment is generally less invasive and often has a shorter recovery time.
  • Improves the appearance of your smile, and confidence.
  • Easy aftercare.
  • Not limiting on eating and drinking afterwards.
  • Natural looking appearance of replacement tooth.
  • Can prevent bone loss.
  • Can be more cost-effective, than multiple alternative treatments.

Your dentist will also be on hand to answer any questions and provide aftercare advice.
