Invisalign

Invisalign® is the clear way to straighten teeth without braces, using aligners. These aligners are removable and virtually invisible, which means you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing.

Clinical research as well as orthodontic clinics all over America have attested to the effectiveness of Invisalign®.win

Who is Invisalign for?

Invisalign clear aligners are suitable for almost anyone who has looked into the traditional braces path, but wants a less noticeable and more comfortable solution, including everyone from young teens to mature adults.

If you’re anxious about the thought of metal braces and worry about what others will think of how they look, Invisalign is the ideal solution for you as, when the aligners are in place, they’re so well hidden that most people won’t even be able to tell you’re wearing them.

How Does Invisalign® Work?

Aligners are worn for around two weeks. You can remove the aligners to eat, drink and for brushing and flossing your teeth. At all other times of day and night, the aligners should be worn.

You’ll start with an initial aligner, which will work to slowly restructure your teeth. Once the initial phase is completed, and the current aligner is no longer of use, you’ll move to a brand-new aligner to continue the process. As you substitute each aligner for the next one in the treatment your teeth will gradually move, until they have moved to the ultimate alignment that your dentist and you agreed upon at the start of treatment, using the ClinCheck video.

Rather than using uncomfortable, tightly wound metallic braces, Invisalign aligners apply gentle pressure to the teeth and gums, encouraging them to move into the desired position, eventually giving you the smile you always wanted – all without the embarrassment of metal braces.

You will need to come in to see us every 6 weeks in order for us to check that your teeth are moving as per the treatment plan. The total length of your orthodontic treatment will vary depending on your case but we will discuss this with you prior to commencement of treatment, so you know in advance the commitment needed.

How Are Invisalign Aligners Made?

This is the interesting part! Each set of aligners is custom-made using sophisticated and highly specialised 3-D computer imaging software and printers! Your dentist in Windsor will take a 3-D scan of your teeth and mouth, and will use this to craft aligners that fit perfectly to your teeth, while helping shift them to the correct position.

Previously, when patients came to see us, the dentist would need to take a mould of the mouth in order to properly assess your teeth and suitability for the treatment. Our practice has invested in the latest digital scanning technology – the Invisalign iTero – which provides:

1. Same Day Solutions

2. A more comfortable assessment

3. Faster treatment plans

Frequently Asked questions

Most Invisalign users report little to no pain when wearing the aligner. However, some do mention they experience “discomfort” which is completely natural given the method at work. Because the aligner uses pressure to gradually form the teeth back into position, some feeling of mild discomfort is to be expected, but this generally disappears within 1-3 days of wearing a new aligner. All in all, it is a pain-free process and a little discomfort is actually a sign that the treatment is working. If you’d like to know more about Invisalign in Windsor, get in touch with the team today.

Orthodontic treatments, like Invisalign aligners, aren’t usually available on the NHS. Should someone be accepted for orthodontic treatment through the National Health Service – only in exceptional circumstances – it will usually be completed through the use of traditional metal track braces as these are much cheaper to produce. This means patients will need to pay for their own orthodontic treatment – if you’d like to know more about the cost of Invisalign, feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to talk you through it.

Now that they’ve been in use for some years, it’s generally accepted that the results offered by Invisalign retainers are just as good – if not better – than traditional track braces. Because Invisalign does not need to fitted directly to the teeth, there’s also less discomfort on the part of the user and less embarrassment if the person in question is self-conscious about their teeth or using braces. Invisalign is an effective treatment for those seeking straighter, more uniform teeth and who want to avoid the awkwardness of metal braces.
