CASE STUDY 15 – PLASTIC GUM SURGERY WITH FULL MOUTH REHABILITATIONS

Typical results of a piecemeal approach to restorative dentistry. There is no co-ordination of the treatment resulting not only in an aesthetic disaster but also loss of health, bite stability and tooth form.

Note the unhealthy red swollen appearance of the gums around the old crowns and the poor tooth proportions and ‘gummy smile’. This serves to highlight the need for a comprehensive approach to diagnosis and treatment planning.

A full mouth rehabilitation was performed with crowns, veneers and bridgework after first reshaping the gums.
