DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENTS

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implant treatment has revolutionised restorative dentistry and the restoration of missing, diseased and failing teeth. Common causes for tooth loss include periodontal disease [click here], extensive tooth decay (usually under old fillings or crowns and failed dentistry. Patients who have had crowns and bridges or extensive dental work may eventually lose some of these teeth through wear and tear, fatigue, decay or breakdown. Often the only option is then dentures whereas dental implants offer a fantastic solution.

Dental Implants offer an immediate permanent alternative for missing teeth, dentures, and for people losing their teeth.

Dr Tidu Mankoo & Dr David Winkler have a vast experience in dental implantology with a variety of dental implant systems since the late 80’s and regularly work with all aspects of dental implant dentistry, particularly complex multi-discipline cases and immediate implants.

On the cutting edge of dentistry Dr Tidu Mankoo is a leading dental implant dentist, a sought after international speaker and acclaimed teacher and lectures all over the world in the field of Implant Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry [click here]. A success rate of over 98% with long-term follow-up speaks for itself with thousands of teeth restored with dental implant crowns and bridges, many in difficult cases involving extensive bone and soft tissue rebuilding.

This experience and our possibly unparalleled expertise helps provide both the patient and referring dentist with the secure knowledge of being in safe and capable hands.

Our surgical skill, and soft tissue management using micro-surgical techniques minimises the surgical trauma, improves the post-surgical experience and guarantees a superb aesthetic outcome

Exceptional quality

Our total commitment to excellence in dentistry, providing the very best that dentistry has to offer ensures that patients receive treatment at the very highest level. Dental implants, advanced restorative dentistry, aesthetic dentistry, crown and bridgework, bone and soft tissue grafting, sinus lifts, alveolar reconstruction, plastic periodontal surgery, periodontal rehabilitation, occlusal reconstructions, perio-prosthetic rehabilitation and full mouth rehabilitations are some of the key services where we offer an outstanding and possibly unparalleled level of experience and expertise.

This is why we receive referrals from colleagues all over the country, Europe and worldwide. Further testimony to this is borne out by that fact many dentists from all over the country and their family members have been patients of the practice.

Immediate implants, immediate function

Having carried out pioneering work since 1993 in the field of immediate dental implants and immediate function we have a clear understanding of the indications, applications and limitations of these techniques. This enables both our patients and referring dentists to benefit from our unparalleled experience with these treatments and again a success rate of over 98% with long-term follow up. We employ these techniques wherever possible to minimise the surgical intervention for our patients and speed up the process of treatment. In this way in many cases the patient can ‘walk out’ with fixed teeth and have the treatment completed in a few months.

Testimonials:

‘I first began using full denture in my early twenties. During the next 25 years, there was a gradual but massive amount of bone resorption of my jaws and subsequent change to the lower half of my face.

“My case was clearly difficult and I had been told by another implant dentist that I could not have fixed teeth, but Dr Mankoo was able to give me a fantastic result with fixed teeth. There was some discomfort – but the fantasies are worse than the reality. This has to be offset by the discomfort I was already experiencing with dentures and the continuing resorption which stopped when I had the treatment. However, the change is what makes it worth it!” Ian (50)

“The change in my self-confidence is difficult to express in words. Only a few people, very close to me, such as my wife, are aware of how much ‘having my own teeth again’ has changed my life. It has not just physically altered my ’smile’ but my mouth internally as well. The cost of dental implant treatment can be a very important financial decision – especially in cases like my own. What justifies it for me is that my new and permanent teeth are the most important material possession I own!” Roger (51).

A difficult case: this gentleman in his 40’s had an upper central incisor that had been previously crowned, root filled and was now failing. Repeated infection and unsuccessful previous surgical treatments to try to treat the root infection have left a dreadful aesthetic problem right in the front of his mouth. Localised gum recession and damage to the underlying bone created quite a challenge. However, our skill, experience & expertise in both soft tissue & bone rebuilding as well as restorative and implant dentistry meant that we were able to create a near-perfect end result for this patient despite being a very difficult case.

This mature gentleman in his 70’s had gradually lost his teeth over the years through inadequate dental care, smoking, gum disease and failed dental work. His few remaining upper teeth were now failing and after trying to wear partial dentures for many years (and hating them) he wanted to have fixed teeth again. Although the situation was pretty awful to start with, a fantastic result was achieved with restoration of all the upper teeth and the lower back teeth with dental implant crowns and bridges, along with crowns on his lower front teeth which were able to be saved. A terrific result!
