Treatment
of inadequate crowns, failing
UL1 and gingival recession
with new crowns, single
tooth dental implant, bone
& soft tissue grafting
and root coverage.
This 45 year old lady presented a very difficult and challenging case. The upper left central incisor had previously been root treated and post crowned and was now failing. Marked gingival recession and a thin scalloped tissue biotype along with a high lip line presented a real challenge to achieve a predictable and stable aesthetic outcome.
We removed the failing
incisor, placed an immediate
dental implant with bone
augmentation and a simultaneous
socket seal soft tissue
graft from the palate to
increase the attached gingival
tissues. We subsequently
carried out root coverage
procedures on the incisors
and left canine along with
connective tissue grafts.
The final result with new
crowns depicted at 2 years
after the case was completed
demonstrates the ongoing
stability and success of
the excellent result.
