CASE STUDY 9 – AESTHETIC RESTORATION WITH CROWNS AND PORCELAIN VENEERS AFTER ROOT COVERAGE AND GUM GRAFTING

An aesthetic restoration of the upper and lower anterior teeth with crowns and veneers combined with root coverage and space closure.

This challenging case presented with multifaceted problems. The lady’s teeth were aesthetically compromised by wear and tear, a missing upper left canine and significant gum recession particularly on the upper left lateral incisor. There was also an ugly triangular gap between her upper central incisors and the centre line was shifted to the left and teeth were generally worn, discoloured and unattractive.

The smile was restored with Procera™ crowns on the upper front teeth and porcelain veneers on the lower front teeth. This was carried out after first correcting the gum recession by means of a root coverage and connective tissue gum graft procedure. Excellent health and stability are portrayed at 4 year follow up demonstrating the predictable nature of this treatment in expert hands.
